Porta potty rental FAQ: delivery and pickup
Can I get a porta potty delivered the same day I call?
Same-day delivery works when a unit and a truck near you are both free. Call by late morning for the best odds. You get a yes or a next-morning time before you hang up.
How much notice should I give for a normal booking?
Two or three business days is ideal and keeps rush charges off the quote. Restroom trailers need about a week. Large orders of 20 or more units need several weeks.
Do drivers deliver on weekends?
Drivers run Monday through Saturday. Sunday delivery is rare and carries an extra driver charge. Most weekend events get a Thursday or Friday drop.
Why does my unit come a day early?
Arrival windows are a few hours wide, so the unit is set the business day before. That way it is stocked and checked before guests arrive, with no truck on the lawn mid-party.
What is the delivery window?
Deliveries run about 7 am to 5 pm. The driver calls about 30 minutes ahead. Ask for a morning drop in your order notes if timing matters.
Can you pick up right after my event ends?
Pickup is the next business day. Same-night or Sunday pickup can be arranged for a driver charge when a park or venue requires it.
How do I end a monthly rental?
Call or text for pickup. Billing stops the day you ask. Units on monthly rentals are not picked up automatically unless you set an end date when booking.
My pickup date passed and the unit is still here. What now?
Call the office and it is flagged for the next route. Keep cars and trailers clear of the unit so the driver can reach it.
Do I need to be there for delivery?
Nobody needs to be there if the spot is open and marked. The driver texts a photo once the unit is set.
Can I check on today's delivery?
Call with your name or invoice number. The office checks with the driver and texts you a time.
Placement and access
Can the unit go in my backyard?
Backyards work when the path is at least 4 feet wide and fairly level. An empty standard unit is light enough for two people to walk it in on a dolly.
Does the ground need to be level?
The unit must sit level so the door closes and the tank does not slosh. Firm grass, gravel, dirt and concrete are all fine.
What should I tell you about access?
Tell us about gate codes, locked gates, low wires, tree limbs, dogs, soft ground and steep drives. Blocked access can mean a return trip charge.
I have no street address. How will you find me?
Text a map pin or GPS coordinates, plus a photo of the spot. On rural roads, ask the driver to call for directions near the turn.
Can I lock the porta potty?
Each door latch takes a padlock or zip tie. Remove your lock before pickup. A combination lock can be added for public spots.
Will it blow over in the wind?
Units on open hilltops and fields can be staked to the ground. Ask for stakes when you book.
Can a unit go on the street in front of my house?
Street placement in Richmond needs City permission first. Call City Hall at 859-623-1000. Driveways and yards need no permit in most cases.
Units and what is inside
What comes in a standard porta potty?
A seat over the holding tank, a urinal, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, a vent and a locking door. No sink and no light.
Do I need to bring toilet paper?
Units arrive stocked. Monthly rentals are restocked at every weekly service. Bring a spare roll for long events if you like.
What is the difference between an event unit and a jobsite unit?
Event units are newer shells kept for private parties and weddings. Jobsite units are built tough for weekly service on construction sites. Both are cleaned and sanitized before delivery.

Do you have a porta potty with a sink inside?

What is the difference between wheelchair-accessible and a standard unit?

Does a restroom trailer need water and power?

Do porta potties have lights?
Standard units do not. Add a battery puck light for night use. Restroom trailers have lights built in.
Can I get a porta potty on a trailer for a moving crew?

Do porta potties freeze in winter?
Tanks can freeze when nights fall below 32°F, mostly December through February in Richmond. Winter service adds antifreeze.
Cost and billing
Why can't you give a price without my address?
Price depends on drive distance and route. The full address avoids a quote for the wrong town.
Is delivery included in the price?
Event prices include delivery and pickup. Monthly rentals list one delivery and pickup charge on the first invoice.
What is a 28-day billing cycle?
Monthly rentals bill every 4 weeks. Each cycle renews until you call for pickup.
If I only need it 3 days, do I pay a full month?
Ask for the short-term rate. Very short non-event needs, like a septic repair, can often be billed as an event period instead of a 28-day cycle.
Is it cheaper to keep a unit on site than to rent it every weekend?
Keeping one unit on a 28-day rental with weekly service costs much less than four separate event deliveries a month.
How do I pay?
By debit or credit card over the phone or through the secure link on your invoice. Approved businesses can use net-30 terms.
Can someone else pay for my rental?
Forward the quote and the payer can call with a card. The billing address can differ from the site address.
How do I sign the rental agreement?
The invoice arrives by text and email. Open it, scroll to the bottom, type your name and sign with your finger. Check spam if the email does not show up.
Can you hold a unit while I check with my family?
Quotes stay good for 2 days, but units are only held once booked. Busy weekends sell out fast, and you can cancel within the policy window.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancel at least 1 business day before delivery for a full refund. Later cancellations may be charged the delivery cost.
Events and weddings
How many porta potties for a wedding of 150?
Five units for a 5-hour reception with a bar: 3 for the guests, 1 for length and 1 for alcohol. Or a 4-stall restroom trailer.
Do I need a porta potty if my party is at my house?
Hosts often rent 1 unit for 30 to 50 guests to keep people out of the house and to protect a septic system.
Can I add more units if more people RSVP?
Units can be added up to a few days before the event when inventory allows.
Do you rent for funerals and celebrations of life?
These are common. Ask for a day-before drop, an accessible unit and a hand wash station.
Do you supply porta potties for church events?

Can you handle a large event with 50 or more units?
Large orders get a set delivery plan, a service schedule and a written quote. Call several weeks ahead.
