Where to Place a Porta Potty: 9-Point Checklist
Good placement means a faster delivery, a cleaner unit and no surprise charges. Run through this before your drop.

What makes a good porta potty spot?
A good porta potty spot is level, firm, within about 50 feet of where a truck can park, and clear of overhead wires and branches. It sits away from food and doors but close enough for guests to find. The door faces away from the street or main seating.
- Level ground: grass, gravel, dirt or concrete.
- Truck can park within about 50 feet.
- Path at least 4 feet wide; gates at least 48 inches.
- No low wires or branches above.
- Clear of septic lids, drain fields and sprinkler heads.
- At least 20 feet from food tables.
- Door facing away from the street or seating.
- Lit at night, or add a puck light.
- Staked on windy ridges and open fields.
How should I mark the spot?
Mark the porta potty spot with a cone, a flag or a chalk X, then text a photo to the office. For rural land with no address, send a map pin. Note gate codes, dogs and any soft ground. Clear instructions mean the driver sets it right the first time.
What if the driver cannot reach the spot?
If the truck cannot reach the marked spot, the driver sets the unit at the nearest safe, level place and calls you. A blocked drive, a locked gate or parked cars can mean a return trip charge. A quick call before delivery day avoids that.
